Like on previous occasions, Railsponsible used the platform of an important rail industry event, the Railway Forum in Berlin, to discuss sustainability topics with rail experts and suppliers. On August 30 and 31 2017 Christoph Schwärzler, Senior Consultant Sustainability at DB, together with his team represented the initiative at the Railsponsible exhibition stand. During the two days, this group connected with visitors of the stand and had interesting discussions about the initiative, sustainability and sustainable procurement with a wide range of suppliers and leading companies of the sector.

Railsponsible also hosted a workshop discussing with a diverse group business motivations, impacts of responsible sourcing and the benefits of Railsponsible. Christoph Schwärzler and Magnus Rosén, representing the member company SKF, gave key note speeches to reflect different perspectives on sustainable supply chain initiatives brought forward by companies.

Finally, one of the highlights during the Railway Forum’s gala dinner was the award ceremony of the Railsponsible CSR Award to HARTING AG, handed over by the chairman of Railsponsible Uwe Günther to Harting Chairman, Philip Harting in front of 550 guests and the presence of Dr. Richard Lutz, CEO of DB AG.
